Baked Falafel with Tahini Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Falafel:

  • 2 cups of canned chickpeas, drained
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Tahini Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

For the Falafel:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place all the falafel ingredients in a food processor and blend until a coarse mixture forms.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, flipping the falafel halfway through until they are crispy and golden.

For the Tahini Sauce:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lemon juice, water, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt until smooth.

Serve the baked falafel with the tahini sauce and your choice of pita bread or salad.
